Positive Psychology had been introduced in 2000. Educational field tried to implement the positive psychology to positive education. The article entitled "Using Positive Education to Enliven the Teaching of Reading" explains about how the positive psychology implemented to education. Positive psychology has aim to make people happier. There are three form of happiness, the first is the happiness that expected by a lot of people : smile, laughter and play; the second is the happiness when we engaged and absorbed into certain activity that make the time goes faster; the third is the happiness that is meaningful for certain people. Positive Psychology has seven concept that can be implemented in positive education, those are : connections with others,  responsibility, gratitude, positivity, strengths, kindness and meaning. The principles are implemented especially in working group. Two activities are used to observe the implementation of positive education, those are Diagnostic Reading and Extensive Reading. Diagnostic Reading is the development of shared reading. The mechanism  of  diagnostic reading : 1) Teachers read aloud the text; 2) Teachers are having interaction or  conversation with the students about the text, it can be the language feature or vocabulary; 3) Students have discussions each other about the text. While extensive reading is dealing with the amount of reading material. In extensive reading, the group can give motivation each other to add their reading references. When students work in group they need to take the principle of positive psychology. They should be responsible in doing the task, be kind by giving guidance toward slow-learning friends, be grateful when friends have guided them and be positive by encouraging themselves to achieve more and more.
Implementation :
When we implement positive education in learning experience, we will have positive environment that encourage students to achieve the goals of learning. In this occasion, students will be happier in reading lesson.
“You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.”
