Society Translatorship

Nowadays, different culture in a society cannot be avoided anymore. It is caused by globalization that give the possibility to exchange the culture in social, economic, political and technology context. Besides learn new culture,we also need to promote our own cultural product.International migration is one of the reason of multicultural society. Multicultural communities have chance to live their own culture and support the diversity. Respect and tolerance are important when living diversity. Sometimes, multicultural causes social problem, especially in language. As said in article entitled The Role of Society Translatorship in Cross-Cultural Interaction by Dogan that translator or community Interpreter in the society is important to support the different cultural interaction. According to that article, the translator should be native and studied majoring in the target country language. Actually cultural interaction is not just the language but also the custom. The translator should serve the community properly considering the manner of the target country culture.

Implication :

In my future English class , teacher is the one who become the translator. Besides teaching the language, teacher also give knowledge about English custom. It will make the students learn English easily because they are not just focus in the linguistic but also the cultural interaction.
